 Educated:

B.Ed. University of Toronto

 Experienced in Business:

30 years with IBM Canada Ltd, most recently as Client Executive leading a team of marketing and support professionals to address the business needs of a large client.

 Family Oriented:

Married to Liz, a long-time volunteer in the school system and recently a volunteer/part-time employee of Tennis Canada. Three sons: Neil and Scott (recent university graduates), and David (now in university).

 Long-Time Resident:

Lived in Ward 25 for 21 years in our current home near Bayview Avenue and York Mills Road.

 Community Leader:

President of the York Mills Ratepayers Association (YMRA) for 12 years, during which time the YMRA had many accomplishments:

  • Installation of the stoplight at Bayview/Tudor Gate, greatly improving turning safety at that intersection with minimal impact on traffic flow;
  • resolution of York Mills Shopping Centre issues, improving quiet enjoyment and property values of neighbours;
  • improvements to the zoning by-law, to protect existing property owners;
  • strict adherence, by developers, to provisions of the zoning by-law;
  • prevention of undesirable rezonings and land divisions;
  • institution of a Neighbourhood Conservation Fund (i.e. warchest) - to address planning issues and redevelopment issues;
  • development of an assessment database to assist property owners in appealing unjust assessment increases;
  • a revitalized newsletter which resulted in a tripling of membership.
