Zoning By-law Project to Host Public Open
Houses |
The
City of Toronto is creating a single zoning bylaw and is
seeking public input. People can find out about the
zoning bylaw project and how to get involved by
attending any of five open houses.
Toronto has embarked on a several year project to
develop one single zoning bylaw for the entire City. One
zoning bylaw will replace 41 bylaws inherited from
former municipalities. Staff can better respond to
public inquiries and issue building permits working with
one zoning bylaw rather than 41 bylaws. The purpose of
zoning bylaws is to regulate the use, size, height,
density and location of buildings on properties.
At the open houses the public will hear about the
project and their role in helping to create a better
bylaw. Staff will demonstrate the interactive zoning
bylaw web site at http://www.toronto.ca/zoning/index.htm
and show how to use the on-line feedback form to comment
on the work that has been done to date.
